Network Analyst

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform network support and analysis in a multi-site, multi-server environment focused primarily on Cisco Routers, Cisco Firewalls, MPLS, ASA’s, MS LAN, and related technologies in a complex environment.
  • Be able to take projects from initiation to completion under the direction of the Network Manager. A current project would be assisting to convert all MPLS sites to be configured with BGP failover.
  • Strong hands on the keyboard skills with the ability to troubleshoot Cisco Routers/Switches throughout the network, troubleshoot firewalls, and other related network engineering tasks.
  • Do what it takes and as needed to help and support the network infrastructure. Key player helping keep the network up and running efficiently, with good chunk of time spent working with end users helping to configure, troubleshoot, and/or support the WAN/LAN infrastructure issues as they arise.
  • Assist Network Manager as needed with various administrative functions.
  • Ability to work effectively and influence both internal network professionals and external network vendors in order to maximize network efficiency, up time, security, and effectiveness.
  • Support network manager from a technical perspective support the daily operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the network and network-related systems, such as routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems.
  • Be able to participate in and add value to the resolution of Level 3 technical infrastructure problems that are escalated to the group.
  • Be able to offer hands-on configuration, installation, and maintenance of the LAN/WAN infrastructure, network security, and servers.
  • Assist in the development of evaluate and recommend software and procedures for organization network security.
  • Experience documenting current architecture and environment and developing participating in creating / developing a new architecture that will consolidate the environment and make it a more manageable global infrastructure.
  • This is a “hands-on keyboard” Network Engineer role and will also involve strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong competencies in network troubleshooting, Cisco Router configuration, Cisco Firewall support and setup, Checkpoint Firewall configuration and management, and a solid understanding of other inter-related networking technologies commonly found in network enterprise environments. “Can do” attitude is critical as well as ability to be flexible, level-headed when under pressure, strong team work sensibilities.
  • Off hours support is required.
